Infrastructure Development and Green Build

A priority for the U.S. and the U.A.E. is to develop in an environmentally sustainable manner.  For example, Masdar City will be the world’s first and largest zero carbon, zero waste project, housing an estimated 40,000 people and costing more than $15 billion.  Headquartered inside Masdar City is the newly founded International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), which is supported by seventy-six developed and developing nations.  IRENA will connect stakeholders from the energy, academia, and social sectors to develop comprehensive solutions to local, regional and national renewable energy initiatives.

The Business Council will highlight the efforts and the offerings of various U.S. and U.A.E. company members in the area of sustainable development and renewable energy.  We will work to help identify best in class U.S. offerings and capabilities to potential U.A.E. partners.  This will include specific focus on promoting LEED-certified design and build capabilities.
