On February 19th, 2009 the U.S.-U.A.E. Business Council Hosted U.S. Consul General Paul Sutphin for dinner with a select group of its members in Dubai. U.S. and U.A.E business leaders including Mohammed Mohebi, Chairman and CEO of Mohebi Investments participated in the dinner.

President of the U.S.-U.A.E. Business Council, Danny Sebright inquired about the economic relationship between Dubai and Iran. Mr. Sutphin explained that U.S. Government policy positions on Iran are under review. However, Dubai shares a close economic trade relationship with Iran. It is estimated that 200,000 Iranian citizens call Dubai home. Mr. Mohebi emphasized that the trade and labor relationship between Dubai and Iran is a vital and historical part of the Emirate’s economy.  Other participants at the dinner discussed the internal economic situation in Iran and important humanitarian window that Dubai provided to the people of Iran.
