SelectUSA, a U.S. government-wide program housed in the International Trade Administration at the U.S. Department of Commerce, recently released a 2015 U.A.E. Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) fact sheet based on data from the Bureau of Economic Analysis. According to SelectUSA, the U.A.E. has improved from eighth to seventh fastest-growing source of FDI into the U.S.

• Emirati FDI into the U.S. has contributed to nearly 13,000 U.S. jobs.
• Total Emirati FDI into the U.S. was over $27 billion in 2015 and has nearly doubled in the last 5 years.
• Firms from the U.A.E. and other Middle Eastern countries have also contributed to $1.7 billion in research and development into the U.S.

Top industrial sectors include: financial services; transportation; real estate; coal, oil and gas; communications; and aerospace.
