The U.S.-U.A.E. Business Council hosted the U.A.E. co-Chair of its Board of Directors, H.E. Khaldoon al Mubarak, the CEO and Managing Director of Mubadala for a discussion with members of the Council’s Board Directors on 10 September 2009.  H.E. was in the United States with His Highness General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi as part of his official visit to Washington.

At the meeting, Casey Olson, Executive Vice President of Occidental Petroleum and the Council’s Board of Directors Vice Co-Chair formally introduced H.E. Mubarak and called him a true friend and partner of the United States.

In his remarks, H.E. thanked the Business Council’s member companies for their extensive efforts on behalf of the U.A.E. 123 Peaceful Civilian Nuclear Energy Agreement.  He also provided an overview of the economic and commercial climate in the U.A.E. and discussed the ambitious infrastructure development work underway.  H.E. stated that the overall situation is fundamentally strong and that in Abu Dhabi specifically the vast majority of the projects continue to move forward as planned.  H.E. also spoke of the growing trade relationship between the U.S. and the U.A.E. and highlighted some of the U.A.E. investments inbound to the U.S.
