The U.S.-U.A.E. Business Council, Chair of the U.S.-U.A.E. World Expo 2020 Standing Committee, is pleased to share with you the below letter from the Expo 2020 Dubai team. In addition, in the weeks ahead we will be sharing additional information and opportunities for American and Emirati companies to learn how to partner and work together with regard to the various commercial and content opportunities outlined below.  As a first step, we encourage you to register your company below at the Expo 2020 Dubai website.  Then, watch this space for more announcements and news about how to connect with the future of Expo 2020 in Dubai.

On April 21st, we launched our engagement with the business community where we presented our vision and plans for Expo 2020 Dubai. This was only the first of many conversations.

During the event, HE Reem Al Hashimy noted that the cooperation of the business community will be instrumental in building a truly exceptional Expo and setting the foundation for a lasting legacy from which we will all benefit. In her words, “Let us teach and educate to build a true knowledge based economy. Let Expo be your test bed for new technologies. Let Expo be your research and development laboratory. Let Expo be your showcase to the world.”

The following are key initiatives that will frame our engagement with you as we move forward:

Co-creation:
Starting in June 2015, we will host a series of workshops to identify areas of collaboration with your businesses. These workshops will focus on topics along the Expo journey, the six months event and the Expo legacy. They will explore how we are able to innovate and create impact around the three Expo themes of Opportunity, Mobility and Sustainability, using innovation as the connection that binds them. Youth Empowerment:
Empowering the youth of tomorrow, preparing our young women and men for the professional world and enabling job creation and entrepreneurship are at the heart of Expo 2020’s objectives. In the next few weeks, we will reach out to you to explore specific collaborative opportunities, including internships, apprenticeships and training programs.

Procurement:
Our procurement program is now live. The online system will provide a link to all of our existing and upcoming tenders. The portal ensures organizations, of all sizes and capabilities have an equal opportunity to engage and be a part of this historic event. You can register at (https://esource.expo2020dubai.ae) to be kept abreast of upcoming opportunities. Registration, pre-qualification and tendering will all be possible through this portal.

Sponsorship:
In the next few weeks, we will also launch our official sponsorship program through which we look forward to building strong and long term partnerships. This program is structured on best practices, ensuring a global and inclusive platform that meets the aspirations of the project and brings benefit to all participating partners.
