RAK Ruler receives US Trade Mission

Ras Al Khaimah– H.H. Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, today received the  ‘US Commercial Healthcare, Pharmaceuticals, Life Sciences, and Technology Trade Mission’ led by the US- UAE Business Council who called on him at the Al Dhait Palace here.

The trade mission comprised top officials of leading US companies in the pharmaceuticals and healthcare sectors who are currently visiting the country to explore UAE’s healthcare system and find out areas for mutual cooperation. The delegation was led by Danny E. Sebright, President of the US- UAE Business Council and had representatives from over a dozen US firms.

Sheikh Saud appreciated the US delegation’s interest in the UAE’s healthcare sector and said that there were increasing opportunities for new business partnerships and investments in the country’s pharmaceutical and healthcare fields.

“The development and modernization of the healthcare sector is a top priority for the UAE government. US companies can bring in their expertise and investments and make good use of the excellent business environment present in the Emirates to build new partnerships,” Sheikh Saud said.

Sheikh Saud also highlighted the logistics and infrastructure capabilities of the emirate and the business friendly reform initiatives implemented in Ras Al Khaimah to attract more investments. He also exchanged views on the global business and economic outlook and regional issues with the delegation.

Danny E Sebright said that US- UAE partnership in the healthcare sector is going through an exciting phase with several ongoing initiatives like the partnerships between Abu Dhabi and the Cleveland Clinic and the Children’s National Medical Centre.

Sheikh Faisal bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Chairman of RAK Finance Department and RAK Free Trade Zone (RAKFTZ), Dr. Abdul Rahman Al Shayeb Al Naqbi, Director General of the RAK Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mohamed Sultan Al Qadi, Managing Director & CEO of RAK Properties, Oussama El Omari, the CEO of the RAK FTZ, and senior officials were present at the meeting.
