D.C. luncheon for senior U.A.E. and U.S. health executives

The U.S.-U.A.E. Business Council will host Executive Director of Mubadala Healthcare, Mr. Suhail Mahmood Al Ansari and CEO of Cleveland Clinic-Abu Dhabi, Dr. Marc Harrison in Washington, D.C. The lunch event will provide public and private sector stakeholders with an opportunity to learn about important aspects of the burgeoning U.S.-U.A.E. healthcare relationship and commercial opportunities for American businesses in the Emirates. For your reference, both speakers’ biographies can be found below.

Mr. Suhail Mahmood Al Ansari
Executive Director
Mubadala Healthcare

Suhail Mahmood Al Ansari is the Executive Director and Chairman of the Board of Mubadala Healthcare, responsible for developing and managing Mubadala’s portfolio of world-class healthcare facilities in partnership with leading medical organizations. He is also a member of the Health Authority Abu Dhabi’s Health Sector Strategy Committee.

Prior to joining Mubadala, Suhail worked with Dubai Holding as head of Marketing & Communications at Dubai Healthcare City. He was seconded to Dubai Holding from the Executive Office of the Crown Prince of Dubai, where he was a member of the Strategy department.

Suhail holds a Bachelor degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Surrey, UK and a Master of Science degree in Finance from Boston College, U.S.A.
Dr. Marc Harrison
Chief Executive Officer
Cleveland Clinic-Abu Dhabi

Marc Harrison, MD, is Chief Executive Officer of Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi. Dr. Harrison oversees the completion and activation of Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi – the region’s first world-class multispecialty hospital, specifically designed to address a range of Abu Dhabi’s most complex medical requirements.

Dr. Harrison joined the staff of the Children’s Hospital at the Cleveland Clinic in 1999. Subsequently, he served as Medical Director of the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), Chairman of the Department of Pediatric Critical Care, Associate Chief of Staff, Director of Medical Operations and Chief Medical Operations Officer. In his most recent role as Chief Medical Operations Officer at Cleveland Clinic, Dr. Harrison grew medical operations from a team of six to more than 1,700 people over a four-year span. He was responsible for streamlining the Hospital Transfer process, creating a variety of clinical services, as well as revamping the day-to-day operations of many aspects of patient care.

Dr. Harrison holds a medical degree from Dartmouth Medical School, a Master degree in Medical Management from Carnegie Mellon University and a certificate in Managing Healthcare Delivery from Harvard Business School. Dr. Harrison is a Fellow of both the American Academy of Pediatrics and the Society of Critical Care Medicine. He serves on the board of directors of the American Medical Groups Association.

Dr. Harrison is an All-American Triathlete and seven-time Ironman. Marc and his pediatrician wife, Mary Carole, and their children live in Abu Dhabi.
