The U.A.E. Embassy in Washington, D.C., U.A.E. Space Agency, U.S. Chamber of Commerce, U.S. Mission to the U.A.E., and U.S.-U.A.E. Business Council invite you to register your interest in attending an Abu Dhabi Space Debate Industry Dinner at 6:30 PM GST on Monday, December 9th at the Ritz Carlton Hotel – Abu Dhabi Grand Canal. Special guests include U.S. Ambassador to the U.A.E. Martina Strong and U.A.E. Space Agency leadership.
This joint dinner welcomes industry, government, and academic leaders who are gathering in Abu Dhabi from 10-11 December 2024 at the Abu Dhabi Space Debate to discuss the space industry’s challenges and opportunities. The 2024 edition of the Abu Dhabi Space Debate will focus on the sustainability, security, and future of space, including equitable access to outer space. It will attract delegations from around the world including a U.S. Department of Commerce-certified trade mission led by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.
The dinner will unpack new and future projects stemming from the Artemis Accords, a set of principles designed to guide civil space exploration and use in the 21st century. Since the establishment of the Artemis Accords in 2020, over 40 countries have joined. One of the most significant U.S.-U.A.E. partnerships to emerge under the Artemis Accords is the U.A.E.’s provision of the airlock to the NASA Gateway, humanity’s first space station around the moon.
Other U.S.-U.A.E. partnerships in space will also take center stage. The U.A.E. Space Agency is now working on an Emirates Mission to the Asteroid Belt in collaboration with U.S. universities and corporate partners. U.A.E. astronaut H.E. Dr. Sultan Al Neyadi conducted the first spacewalk by an Arab astronaut. He and the U.A.E.’s first female astronaut Nora Al Matrooshi have both trained at NASA’s facilities. The U.A.E. Space Agency and the U.A.E.’s Mohammed Bin Rashid Space Centre (MBRSC) also successfully launched the Emirates Mars Mission “Hope Probe” with the support of NASA and U.S. universities.
