Westinghouse is a major participant in the construction of the first nuclear plants in the Emirates, at the Barakah site in Ruwais, United Arab Emirates. The scope of Westinghouse’s participation in this four unit APR-1400 plant includes major components such as reactor coolant pumps, reactor vessel internals and control element drive mechanisms. Westinghouse is also providing support for engineering, quality assurance, supply chain management, licensing, project management, and installation and start up.
