H.H. Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed Al Nahyan Engages with U.S. Tech Leaders During Visit to Washington, D.C.

His Highness Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Ruler of Abu Dhabi and U.A.E. National Security Adviser, concluded a trip to Washington, D.C. from March 17 – 20, 2025, after which the White House announced that the U.A.E. will invest over $1.4 trillion into the U.S. market over the next 10 years, focusing on AI infrastructure, semiconductors, energy, and manufacturing.

In addition to meetings with President Donald Trump and senior U.S. government officials, His Highness met with the leaders of key U.S. technology companies to discuss the governance and export of AI and advanced technologies, as well as new U.A.E. investments in these areas in the U.S. market. Please see below for details of outcomes from his meetings with Microsoft, X, Oracle, BlackRock, and Palantir Technologies, Amazon, and Meta. On Tuesday, March 18th, the Abu Dhabi Government announced a significant agreement with Microsoft and Core42, a G42 company specializing in sovereign cloud, AI infrastructure, and digital services. This agreement will implement a sovereign cloud system that unlocks efficiencies and innovations in the provision of government services. The project will create a unified, high-performance cloud computing environment capable of processing more than half a million daily digital interactions between Abu Dhabi government entities, citizens, residents, and businesses.

On Wednesday, March 19, H.H. Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Group 42 Group CEO Peng Xiao spoke with X CEO Elon Musk. His Highness stated that the conversation “explored avenues for collaboration in key sectors where AI and advanced technology can play a transformative role, reinforcing the U.A.E.’s position as a global leader in digital innovation.”

On Wednesday, March 19th, H.H. Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed Al Nahyan spoke with Oracle Chairman, Co-Founder, and Chief Technology Officer Larry Ellison. His Highness stated that they discussed the “latest advancements in artificial intelligence and advanced technology and their transformative role in driving sustainability and enhancing quality of life. We also explored opportunities for collaboration and investment in this space.”

On Thursday, March 20th, H.H. Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed Al Nahyan met with BlackRock CEO Larry Fink and Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella. His Highness stated that the discussion surrounded their “shared commitment to harnessing AI’s transformative potential to accelerate global growth and drive groundbreaking innovation.” They also spoke with Nvidia Co-Founder and CEO Jensen Huang about the AI Infrastructure Partnership (AIP), which Nvidia and X recently joined.

On Friday, March 21st, H.H. Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed Al Nahyan met with Palantir Technologies Co-Founder and CEO Alex Karp. His Highness stated that the conversation “explored collaboration opportunities to push the boundaries of innovation and achieve a widespread yet sustainable impact in various sectors.”

On Friday, March 21st, H.H. Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed Al Nahyan met with Amazon Founder and Executive Chairman Jeff Bezos. His Highness stated that the conversation “explored the accelerated trends in artificial intelligence and technology and its impact on global economies.”

H.H. Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed Al Nahyan met with Meta Founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg as part of his visit to the United States. His Highness stated that the conversation “centered on the transformative power of digital solutions in accelerating learning, empowering societies and driving inclusive long-term economic growth.”

His Highness and his team met with President Donald Trump and members of his cabinet including Vice President JD Vance, Secretary of the Treasury Scott Bessent, National Security Advisor Mike Waltz, Special Advisor on AI and Crypto David Sacks, Secretary of Commerce Howard Lutnick, and CIA Director John Ratcliffe.
