World Health Expo (WHX) Dubai Reception Showcases Bilateral Partnerships in Healthcare and Life Sciences

“The bilateral healthcare and life sciences partnership between the U.S. and U.A.E. is built upon shared cooperation, trust and human connection.” said Maisoon Al Dah, Director of the International Health Relations Office for the Ministry of Health and Prevention. 

This statement from Ms. Al Dah encapsulated the U.S.-U.A.E. Business Council’s annual kick off reception for the World Health Expo (WHX Dubai), which takes place from 9-12 February 2026 in Dubai. 

This  reception on Sunday, February 8th in Dubai featured remarks from Maisoon Al Dah, Director of the International Health Relations Office for the Ministry of Health and Prevention (MOHAP), and Eric Gaudiosi, Chargé d’Affaires, U.S. Embassy in Abu Dhabi.

The evening provided an opportunity for local and visiting business executives, government officials, and thought leaders to discuss growing areas of bilateral healthcare and life science cooperation.

Maisoon Al Dah and Eric Gaudiosi’s remarks emphasized: 

  • The strength and breadth of U.S.–U.A.E. healthcare collaboration, highlighting flagship bilateral partnerships such as Cleveland Clinic Abu DhabiKanad Hospital, and Mass General Brigham and Dana Farber’s partnership with BEEAH Group on the Jawaher Boston Medical District in Sharjah, that collectively continue to set global benchmarks for clinical excellence, research, and patient care in the region.
  • Life sciences cooperations as a growing foundational pillar of the U.S.–U.A.E. relationship, delivering significant economic dividends, advancing innovation, creating high-skilled jobs, and strengthening long-term healthcare resilience in both countries.
  • Pioneering work of the Emirati Genome Project, which is building one of the world’s most comprehensive genetic maps to accelerate the development of advanced preventive and personalized healthcare solutions, leveraging artificial intelligence to transform diagnosis, treatment, and population health outcomes.
  • Collaboration between the U.A.E. and leading U.S. children’s hospitals in pediatric care—including Cincinnati Children’s HospitalChildren’s National Hospital, and Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP)—to deliver life-changing care and expand access to world-class specialized treatment for children across the Emirates.
  • The U.A.E.’s sustained focus on longevity care, research and development, pharmaceutical manufacturing, biotechnology, and gene therapies, as exemplified by Abu Dhabi’s Health, Endurance, Longevity, and Medicine (HELM) cluster, positioning the country as a global hub for next-generation healthcare innovation.


U.S.-U.A.E. Business Council President Danny Sebright outlined the U.S.-U.A.E. Business Council’s upcoming programming during WHX Dubai. Mr. Sebright also highlighted the recent publication of the U.S.-U.A.E. Business Council’s U.A.E. Healthcare and Life Sciences Sector Report published in January 2026.
