Total trade between the United States and the United Arab Emirates reached a record-high of$18.34 billion in 2011; an increase of 43% vs. 2010.

U.S. exports to the U.A.E. reached a record-high of $15.89 billion in 2011; an increase of 36%vs. 2010. The previous record of $14.4 billion occurred in 2008, prior to the global economic recession.

The U.A.E. was the 19th largest export destination for American goods in the world in 2011.

The U.A.E. more than doubled its exports to the U.S. in 2011 with $2.44 billion; an increase of113% vs. 2010.

December 2011 was the highest month for U.S. exports to the U.A.E., totaling $1.824 billion—an increase of 51.2% vs. December 2010.

In 2011, every state in the U.S. as well as the District of ColumbiaPuerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands exported goods to the U.A.E.

The top export to the U.A.E. in 2011 was Transportation Equipment with $5.893 billion

  • Aviation was a large component of this —$3.63 billion— with $3.46 billion in civilian aircraft$163.2 million in aircraft parts, and $26.26 million in aircraft engines.

2.    Computer & Electronic Products– $1.91 billion (+21% vs. 2010)
3.    Machinery (Non-Electrical)- $1.738 billion (+21% vs. 2010)
4.     Chemicals– $1.01 billion (+25% vs. 2010)
5.    Fabricated Metal Products– $727.7 million (+32.1% vs. 2010)

1.    Washington– $2.75 billon (+186.4% vs. 2010)
2.    Texas– $2.06 billion (+14.5% vs. 2010)
3.    New York– $1.52 billion (+36.3% vs. 2010)
4.    California– $1.44 billion (+5.6% vs. 2010)
5.    Florida– $1.18 billion (+134.76% vs. 2010)
6.    Georgia– $636.25 million (+68.3% vs. 2010)
7.    New Jersey– $626.25 million (+49.6% vs. 2010)
8.    Connecticut– $541.8 million (+425.9% vs. 2010)
9.    Michigan– $456.1 million (+51% vs. 2010)
10.  Ohio– $327.5 million (+7.6% vs. 2010)
