His Highness Sheikh Saud hosts meeting for international business leaders in Ras Al Khaimah

(Ras Al Khaimah, U.A.E.) — The second Global Arab Business Meeting organized by Horasis was held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, and co-hosted by the Ras Al Khaimah Investment Authority (RAKIA) and the Department of Economic Development, Ras Al Khaimah on October 9-10th, 2011 at the Al Hamra Convention Center in Ras Al Khaimah, United Arab Emirates (U.A.E.).

Throughout the two day conference, His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi addressed global business leaders, highlighting Ras Al Khaimah and the U.A.E. as key commercial hubs in the Middle East North Africa (MENA) region and stressing the U.A.E.’s significant role as a partner for commerce and trade on the global stage.

On Sunday, Her Excellency Sheikha Lubna bint Khalid Al Qasimi, U.A.E. Minister of Foreign Trade, joined His Highness for a session exploring the political and economic impacts on comeptitiveness resulting from the recent developments in the Middle East.  In her comments, Sheikha Lubna underscored the strength of the U.A.E.’s trade relationships with countries all over the world and cited the U.A.E.’s openness as a key element to its increased trade and foreign investment in recent years.

Danny Sebright, President of the U.S.-U.A.E. Business Council, attended the conference with other business leaders from around the world and he participated on a panel entitled, “Enhancing the Scope of Overseas Investments”.  In his remarks, Sebright addressed the common challenges and suggested approaches for U.A.E. companies looking to invest in the United States.  Sebright stressed the importance of engaging and communicating clearly with senior American decision-makers from the onset of the investment process and the importance of Congressional awareness and approval to the success of the investment.
