ABC Dubai, AmCham Abu Dhabi, and The U.S.-U.A.E. Business Council host U.A.E. Delegation, business leaders in Houston

Houston, Texas − The American Business Group of Dubai and the Northern Emirates (ABC Dubai), the American Chamber of Commerce in Abu Dhabi (AmCham Abu Dhabi), and the U.S.-U.A.E. Business Council hosted a reception and dinner in honor of the Offshore Technology Conference (OTC) delegation from the United Arab Emirates on Sunday, May 1st at the Four Seasons Hotel in Houston, Texas.

Mr. John Boehm, President Emeritus of ABC Dubai, Mr. John Habib, Chairman of AmCham Abu Dhabi, and Mr. Danny Sebright, President of the U.S.-U.A.E. Business Council provided welcomed the delegation and event attendees, highlighting the important and strategic commercial relationship that exists between the U.S. and the U.A.E. and the potential for further cooperation across many commercial sectors, including oil and gas.

The event, which took place on the eve of OTC 2011 in Houston, featured keynote remarks from Mr. Ali Rashid Al-Jarwan, the Chief Executive Officer of the Abu Dhabi Marine Operating Company (ADMA-OPCO), a joint venture between its majority stakeholder, the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) and BP, Total Oil and JODCO.

Mr. Al-Jarwan addressed a crowd of over one hundred people representing companies with interests in offshore technology and petrochemicals as well as representatives from the private sector with commercial interests in the relationship between the U.S. and the U.A.E.

Mr. Al-Jarwan, a well-respected expert in the offshore technology field, provided the crowd with an overview of the U.A.E.’s role in the global oil supply chain and the important relationship that exists between the U.S. and the U.A.E. in this sector.

Furthermore, Mr. Al-Jarwan, who leads the six business units of ADMA-OPCO, underscored the company’s vast experience in the oil sector and provided attendees with an explanation of ADMA-OPCO and ADNOC’s current business operations and the future forecasts of the regional and global offshore industry.

Mr. Al-Jarwan and the accompanying delegation from the U.A.E. are in Houston for the duration of OTC 2011 and are supported by the U.A.E. Embassy in Washington, D.C. and the U.S. Foreign Commercial service.
