The 2013 Abu Dhabi Media Summit (ADMS) featured a panel discussion between Usama Fayyad, Executive Chairman of Oasis 500 and Eric Gertler, Head of New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC), moderated by U.S.-U.A.E. Business Council President Danny Sebright, which took place on Wednesday, October 23rd, in Abu Dhabi. The panel, entitled, “Building strong local ecosystems to achieve global success,” focused on the way countries are deploying very ambitious strategies to leverage the power and growth generated by the digital disruption. The session focused on the lessons to be learned and the dynamics at stake in the most innovative markets, and the way governments have helped (or not) at fostering innovation and leveraging technology.
