
U.S.-U.A.E. Business Council President Danny Sebright moderated a panel on February 14th, 2025 at the Museum of the Future in Dubai hosted by Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business in partnership with Dubai Media Council. The “Dubai Rising: Building Tomorrow’s Global Business Capital” conference focused on Dubai’s transformative vision towards becoming a global business hub. The panel, titled “Global Business Landscape: Challenges and Opportunities for the U.A.E. and Dubai,” explored the reasons why companies are choosing Dubai to expand their business and the myriad opportunities available in the Emirate.
U.S. Ambassador to the U.A.E. Martina Strong highlighted the ways in which she and her team help U.S. companies that want to do business in the U.A.E. She elaborated on the ease of doing business in the country and how U.S. companies are eager to enter the U.A.E. market. She also commented on the flow of investment into the United States from the U.A.E., which is projected to increase in the coming years.

CEO and Founder of the Apparel Group Ms. Sima Ved explained the ways in which her business is thriving in Dubai’s global business landscape and why international businesses are attracted to Dubai. She added that the U.A.E. Ministry of AI helps local businesses in the U.A.E. implement AI technologies into their everyday business practices.
Reena Aggarwal, who serves as Professor and Director of the Psaros Center for Financial Markets and Policy at Georgetown Unversity’s McDonough School of Business, lent her perspective as to why Dubai is continuing to grow as a global business hub, including its geographic location and market stability. She also commented on why the U.S. market will maintain stability and continue to attract companies globally for business investment.
