Lunch and Discussion with Ambassador Alexander Vershbow

The U.S.-U.A.E. Business Council convened a meeting on Wednesday, June 2nd for Ambassador Alexander Vershbow, Assistant Secretary of Defense for International Security Affairs, with key Business Council defense and aerospace Founding Members.  The purpose was to discuss the overall goals and objectives of U.S. defense and security policy in the Middle East and with key Gulf allies like the U.A.E.  The meeting provided an exclusive opportunity for industry executives to engage Ambassador Vershbow on how industry can better align itself with long-term U.S. goals and objectives in the region and partner with the Administration to execute U.S. policy.

Ambassador Vershbow is a career foreign service officer who has served as U.S. Ambassador to NATO, Russia, and Korea.  In his current position as Assistant Secretary of Defense, Ambassador Vershbow is responsible for U.S. defense and security policy with NATO, the Middle East, and Africa.
