The U.S.-U.A.E. Business Council, in partnership with the Bay Area Council, hosted a reception on Wednesday, September 17th, 2025 at the Ritz-Carlton San Francisco to honor a delegation of 50 Chief AI Officers from across the U.A.E. government. The event brought together over 150 U.S. and U.A.E. business executives and government officials for an evening of discussion and networking focused on advanced technology and artificial intelligence partnerships.

The delegation represented over 40 ministries and government authorities, ranging from the Ministry of Economy and Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology to the U.A.E. Space Agency, Central Bank of the U.A.E., Dubai Digital Authority, and many more.

His Excellency Mohamed bin Taliah, Chief of Government Services for the Government of the U.A.E. and the head of the delegation, delivered keynote remarks on the Chief AI Officers program and its role in driving government innovation. He also explained why the delegation was visiting the United States.

  • He emphasized the U.A.E.’s commitment to harnessing AI to deliver and build a better future for humanity.
  • In 2024, they launched a national program to appoint Chief AI Officers in every federal and Dubai-based government agency–ensuring that AI is at the heart of public service and decision-making.
  • Knowledge sharing with leading American technology companies is critical to the success of the program.

H.E. Dr. Mohamed Alkuwaiti, Head of Cybersecurity for the U.A.E. Government, also addressed the gathering, highlighting:

  • The U.A.E.’s ambition to build safe and secure AI applications, with security at the heart of their mission.
  • The importance of private sector feedback in the U.A.E.’s digital transformation, particularly in partnership with American companies.

President of the U.S.-U.A.E. Business Council Danny Sebright stressed that the U.A.E.’s Chief AI Officer program is revolutionizing public sector innovation. He highlighted the surge of momentum in bilateral relations following recent visits by U.S. President Donald Trump to the U.A.E. and His Highness Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed Al Nahyan to Washington, D.C. earlier this year, underscoring how these engagements have energized commercial partnerships in AI and advanced technology.

Sean Randolph, Senior Director of the Bay Area Council Economic Institute, welcomed the delegation to California and underscored the Bay Area’s global leadership in AI. He highlighted the region’s unparalleled concentration of AI talent, companies, and investment, while noting the unique opportunities for collaboration with the U.A.E.

The reception provided a platform for forging new connections between U.S. tech leaders and U.A.E. government innovators, advancing the shared goal of building a future-oriented U.S.-U.A.E. AI partnership.
