Under the patronage of His Excellency Dr. Rashid Ahmad bin Fahad, U.A.E. Minister of Environment and Water, the Emirates Standards and Metrology Authority(ESMA) in cooperation with the U.S. Department of Commerce, invites you to a conference on “Implementation of Green Building Standards, Codes & Regulations: U.S., GCC andU.A.E. Measuring Success.”
The event will feature remarks by His Excellency Dr. Rashid bin Fahad and representatives from the Dubai Municipality, Estidama, the Abu Dhabi Quality and Conformity Council, the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy, Masdar, the Saudi Arabian Green Building Forum, the Gulf Sustainability Assessment System (Qatar) and many others. The distinguished speakers will discuss the U.A.E.’s, Saudi Arabia’s and Qatar’s Green Build goals and strategies, and provide key insights into the region’s thinking regarding Green Build standards harmonization and opportunities for U.S. companies in the Green Build sector.
Complementing the distinguished regional presenters, representatives from major U.S.–based standards and code developing organizations will speak about how standards facilitate and support green building and about specific topics, including: green construction codes, HVAC, energy and water efficiency, air quality, and conformity assessment.
U.S.-based standards and code development organizations represented will include: ASTM International, the International Code Council (ICC), the Air Conditioning, Heating and Refrigeration Institute (AHRI), the International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials (IAMPO), Underwriters Laboratories (UL) and the American Association for Laboratory Accreditation (A2LA).
The event will also offer presentations from a leading code official from the City of Los Angeles about municipal implementation of green codes, and from U.S. private sector and U.S. Department of Commerce representatives about the importance of green building standards and trade. The event also will offer networking opportunities with representatives from regional green build organizations mentioned and others.
