The U.S.-U.A.E. Business Council is pleased to support and direct your attention to the U.S. Department of Commerce’s ‘Infrastructure Business Development Mission to the Middle East’ led by Secretary of Commerce Penny Pritzker.  The mission will take place March 8-14, 2014 in the United Arab Emirates (U.A.E.), Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and Qatar.  More information below:

United States Secretary of Commerce Penny Pritzker will lead an Infrastructure Business Development Mission to the United Arab Emirates, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Qatar that will highlight infrastructure export opportunities for U.S. businesses with an emphasis on project management and engineering (including construction, architecture and design), renewable energy (solar, wind, waste-to-energy), smart grid and energy efficiency, and environmental technologies (including water/wastewater; air pollution control; and waste management).  This mission advances the 2010 launch of President Obama’s National Export Initiative, which aims to double U.S. exports by the end of 2014, supporting economic and job growth.

An Incredible Business Opportunity

While a number of U.S. companies have been successful in the Middle East, the U.S. Department of Commerce recognizes that some companies need assistance negotiating the foreign markets in order to take advantage of the great opportunities that exist.  The mission will assist U.S. businesses in initiating or expanding exports to the region by making business-to-business introductions, providing market access information, and facilitating access to government decision-makers.

The mission will stop in the United Arab Emirates (Abu Dhabi and Dubai), the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (Riyadh) and Qatar (Doha).  In each country, participants will meet with pre-screened potential agents, distributors, and representatives, as well as other business partners and government officials.  They will also attend market briefings by U.S. Embassy officials, as well as networking events offering further opportunities to speak with local business and industry decision-makers.
