Advisory: U.S. Commercial SME Defense Trade Mission to the U.A.E.

WHO:  The U.S.-U.A.E. Business Council will lead a delegation of fifteen representatives from American companies in the defense sector on a trade mission to the United Arab Emirates (U.A.E.).

WHAT: The United States Department of Commerce-certified “U.S. Commercial Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (SME) Defense Trade Mission to the U.A.E.”

WHERE: Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates

WHEN: Sunday, September 18th, 2011 to Tuesday, September 20th, 2011

WHY: The trade mission will present small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the U.S. defense sector with premiere access to senior decision-makers in the U.A.E. government and senior executives in the private sector. Throughout the mission, participants will meet with senior defense business leaders, receive corporate briefings from local defense companies, and conduct site visits to industrial defense facilities vital to the U.A.E.’s growing commercial defense sector.

The key objectives for the mission will be to:

• Survey opportunities for U.S. defense products and suppliers
• Educate participants about the legal & regulatory framework for doing business in the U.A.E.
• Connect participants with Tier 1 defense contractors in the U.A.E.
• Enable networking and relationship building with potential partners and/or customers.
• Explore the U.A.E. as location for industrial defense manufacturing capabilities.

The mission is certified by the Commercial Service of the U.S. Department of Commerce and is supported by the U.S. Embassy in Abu Dhabi and the U.A.E. Embassy Trade and Commercial Office in Washington, D.C.
